A Quick Question

With the wedding fast approaching (July 5), it’s time to start thinking about dress fittings. My dress is currently about 2 sizes too big and 4 inches too long (with me wearing my tallest shoes). Because I bought my dress out of state and off the rack, I’ll need to search out a seamstress to do the alterations. My questions are, then:

What do I look for in a seamstress?

When should I schedule my first fitting?

DAHLINK!

Go read this: http://offbeatbride.com/2009/12/bridal-fitting-advice

My lady said two fittings, one three months out and one a few weeks before the wedding, and said that most people lose a couple of pounds right at the end due to stress.

I just went through the process of finding a seamstress as well. I went on a recommendation from friends of a friend. She also got a lot of great reviews on Yelp. We emailed a few times before I made the appointment and she sent me a ton of photos of her work (without my even asking her to). She said that she usually books appointments in April for July weddings. Good luck!

Thank you for all the advice guys! Mouse, I have been searching high and low for that link! I couldn’t remember where I saw it. I think I may have found someone through Yelp. Wish me luck!
